a little bit about

Caroline perlman

Caroline has had an ingrained passion for horses from the time she could walk. As a junior, Caroline earned her horse time as a groom and exercise rider, progressing through the years to eventually work for Canadian Team rider, Torchy Miller. Her Wall Street career afforded her the ability to purchase her own horses and she competed successfully for over 20 years in the top ranks as an Amateur in both the jumpers and the hunters. She has been privileged to work with many industry professionals and counts Harold Chopping and Brandie Holloway as her principal mentors who continue to guide her since turning professional.

Caroline Perlman

Kim grew up riding horses and achieved top five finishes in the Medal, Maclay and USET finals under the training of Hunterdon where he met his long-term mentor, 5-time Olympian Anne Kursinski. Kim then turned professional, developed young hunters for private owners and competed in the jumpers through Grand Prix level. Kim established Riverstone in 1993 and has spent decades developing a training program that focuses on the careful management of horse, rider safety and education and true horsemanship, the combination of which has resulted in consistent success in the show ring.

Together with his wife Caroline, Kim has designed and built two facilities to support the boarding, full care and training of client and investment horses. Riverstone North and South each provide ample turnout and an idyllic private training setting. As a trainer, Caroline brings her unique perspective to Riverstone’s clients as she personally understands the inner workings of the amateur rider and their needs and expectations as a client.
